Raven Nation Receptions Are in Full Swing

As the crisp autumn air sets in, the School community finds itself in the heart of its busiest season. This includes receptions in select locations that reconnect graduates from various regions while also welcoming prospective families interested in learning more about Portsmouth Abbey’s unique approach to education.

Head of School Matt Walter and Director of Student Life Paula Walter have recently made their way through a series of Raven Nation events. This past week, alumni and prospective families in Portland, Oregon, gathered at Steeplejack Brewing Co. on October 13, followed by a vibrant reception in Bend, Oregon, at Anthony’s in the Old Mill District on October 15. These dates were preceded by an event in Texas, where the Dallas-Fort Worth alumni enjoyed a special evening at the Star Legends Lounge at the Dallas Cowboys World Headquarters in Frisco. Guests had the unique opportunity to experience "Volume," an awe-inspiring light installation by renowned artist and Portsmouth Abbey alumnus Leo Villareal ‘86. Comprising 19,200 lights woven into 160 towering metal rods, the piece illuminates the entrance to The Star with its breathtaking beauty. An exclusive interview with Mr. Villareal will be featured in the upcoming winter issue of the Alumni Bulletin.

The fall alumni receptions continue with events in Chicago on October 17 at The Union League Club and a special Young Alumni Networking Event in New York City on October 24 at the New York Athletic Club.
